We are ready to lead once more

Four years ago, I wanted to move to England (hey, it’s not as weird as it sounds—I was born there, so I’d have instant citizenship). But today I could not be more proud to call myself an American.It would’ve been so much fun to have an Inauguration party—complete with little fondant donkey cupcakes!—but school (and the fact that most of my SMU friends are Republicans and didn’t want to watch) dashed those plans. Oh well! I’ll be back later tonight, with a recipe post ). Happy Tuesday!

I had it on ALL DAY. It was really exciting. It seems like one of those things that is just so hugely important. I made a cake for the occasion . Its hard to believe that GWB was in office for half my life. It is all I can remember. I feel safe now.

Aw yes, I live in the OC, one of the few very conservative areas of CA. And I work in law enforcement, which tends to be pretty conservative, so I feel your pain. Happy inauguration day!
